How to stream on YouTube? - Step by step guide! How and how much can you earn on streaming games on the Internet? Where is the best place to stream for a beginner?

Stream (from the English word stream) - in fact, is the broadcast of your own video online. At the moment, such a service is in great demand among numerous gamers and lovers of real-time communication. Users with the highest rating and number of views have the right to monetize their own broadcasts, thereby turning the game process not only into a hobby, but also a completely successful commercial enterprise.

About how much money you can earn by broadcasting your own video content, and about other nuances of such a modern business, you will learn directly from this article.

What do you need to start streaming?

So, through the stream, you can make sure that the entire gameplay that takes place on your computer screen will be broadcast in real time and available for viewing by a virtually unlimited number of users from all over the globe. And each of them will be able to evaluate the quality of your content or leave a comment.

You can also answer questions of interest to various users and accept donations from viewers to various e-wallets. A similar thing is currently extremely common and has its own name - "Donat".

  • First of all, you will need a fair amount of free time. To begin with, you need to devote at least three hours daily to your own gaming broadcasts.
  • You will need a computer with a fairly powerful configuration. Its power is the most important factor in the success of any streamer, since the hardware must allow not only to play, but also simultaneously broadcast the game in real time to Internet users. In addition to a modern processor and video card, the computer must have at least six gigabytes of RAM and a hard drive with a high spindle speed.
  • Stable high speed internet. There are no speed limits, of course. The higher the speed, the better, but it should be at least 30 megabits per second. The most suitable is the speed of 70 megabits and above.
  • For your own stream, you should choose not just a popular game that is in the TOP in terms of the number of subscribers, but also one that you personally know well and in which you have a certain skill. In addition, you need the ability to interestingly and picturesquely comment on the ongoing gameplay.
  • A microphone with which you will comment on your game and answer questions. You can use the built-in recording device in your laptop, or purchase a higher-quality microphone separately, which in turn will affect the quality of your broadcast and, accordingly, the number of viewers.
  • Webcam. In fact, it is quite possible to conduct your own streams without this device, but the presence of a camera also affects the rating and popularity.
  • In order to conduct your own broadcasts, you need to install additional software on your computer, with which you will stream online. One of the most popular programs that allows you to broadcast a video stream is XSplit.

What are the best games to stream?

As mentioned above, you need to stream those games that you personally like, and knowledge of the gameplay of which may be of interest to viewers who watch the progress of your game in real time.

To date, the most popular games broadcast on the stream are WOT, Dota2, WoW, Minecraft and many others. Various sports games are of no less interest, such as the series FIFA and first person shooters like Counter strike.

All content that you are going to broadcast must not contain threats against any persons, scenes of an erotic and pornographic nature, alcohol propaganda and other bad habits.

Profanity can also result in your ability to broadcast your own video being blocked by the moderators of a certain resource due to a violation of one of these rules. It is worth remembering about copyright, non-observance of which is strictly suppressed by the administration of the vast majority of resources. Otherwise, there are no restrictions, and you can broadcast any content that does not contradict the above rules.

Most popular sites

Twitch

Twitch is currently the largest service with which you can conduct your own full-fledged broadcasts. The capabilities of this site allow you to simultaneously broadcast the gameplay taking place directly on your computer screen and comment on it using a microphone, while armed with a webcam.

You can display your own image in parallel so that the audience can observe your emotions during the game, which can greatly increase the audience of your fans.

All viewers of your stream can chat with each other and ask questions directly to you.

In order to start streaming using Twitch, you need to register on the site's official website. Next, you need to fill in all the required fields with information about yourself, after which you will have access to the capabilities of the service.

On this platform today, there are the following main ways of earning.

Advertising

Only those users who are connected to the affiliate program of the service can place advertising offers during their own broadcast. In order to join such a program, the average number of viewers of your channel must be at least 500, you must broadcast at least three times a week, and all your content must comply with all copyright laws.

After connecting to the affiliate network, you will have the opportunity to launch ad units at virtually any time intervals. At your own discretion, you can spin commercials from one to several times per hour. Direct income for every thousand views is up to four US dollars.

There is one significant drawback - those viewers who have AdBlock software installed will not be able to see the commercial offer, and you will not be able to earn money.

However, if the audience of your channel becomes quite large, you can ask users to turn off such applications, thereby giving you the opportunity to improve your financial well-being. The higher your popularity, the more potential advertisers would like to place their offers during your broadcasts. There are no uniform prices for such banners, however, many popular streamers charge up to one hundred US dollars for the information about a product or service to last for several hours of a live broadcast.

Paid subscriptions

Providing a paid subscription is possible only for users officially connected to the affiliate program of the Twitch platform. Subscribing to your channel gives other users the right to view your broadcasts in real time with some bonuses and privileges not available to ordinary viewers.

The cost of such a subscription for one month usually varies within 2 to 5 dollars, however, it should be borne in mind that about half of this amount goes to the affiliate program.

Donat

Donat is a payment for the work of the streamer directly during the broadcast to one of the virtual wallets. Viewers pay both simply out of disinterested motives in order to thank the author for a high-quality broadcast, and in order to gain some fame, since for most streamers the donator's nickname with a short text appears on the screen during the live broadcast.

Of course, viewers can use your broadcast to advertise their goods or services, however, in order to prevent the influx of "spammers" and freeloaders, you can manually set the minimum donation size, which will stop fans of cheap advertising.

At the current time, a similar way to make money is more relevant for European countries and the English-speaking space. Gamers who enjoy a certain amount of success and popularity with viewers earn on average about $500 for a stream of several hours. On the territory of the CIS countries, donation is also gradually becoming fashionable, and today in the Russian-speaking space there are enough streamers who earn several tens of thousands of rubles per broadcast.

You can visually see the process of earning on this platform in the following video:

Youtube (Youtube)

In order to conduct your own broadcasts on the Youtube service, you must have an up-to-date account, for which no violations and warnings were noticed. The platform allows you to organize broadcasts in real time in high definition, and other viewers can review replays of your broadcast immediately from the moment it ends.

Users can leave comments and discuss your streams with each other, as well as rate the quality of your content. In order to be able to host your own broadcasts, you need to install additional software, such as OBS.

How much can you earn?

Theoretically, there are no restrictions on the possible earnings through your own broadcasts, it all depends solely on your content, the charisma and generosity of your viewers. Streamers in the English-speaking space earn amounts that other quite successful businessmen can only dream of. Although we are not all that bad.

For example, a well-known streamer from the Russian-speaking segment, especially popular on the Twitch platform, nicknamed Vzhlink, earns an average about 50,000 rubles per month. The maximum size of a one-time donation during one of his broadcasts was more than 70,000 rubles.

How to get a large number of views?

The amount of your earnings on online broadcasts directly depends on the number of viewers and the popularity of your channel. Spread the word about your upcoming broadcasts on various social networks and in general wherever possible.

How do I start streaming games on Twitch? This question is asked by many novice gamers who want their "gaming career" to be followed not only by their parents, but also by a bunch of strangers. In addition, top streamers' cosmic earnings are a great motivation. In general, we have prepared a small guide for beginner streamers, where everyone will find some useful tips for themselves.

1. Tidy up the equipment

To stream, you'll need a few things: a good PC, a headset with a microphone, maybe a webcam, and a few video games (at least one). The computer configuration must contain at least an Intel Core i5-4670 or AMD equivalent with 8 GB of RAM (or more). Obviously, you need a good graphics card and a good internet connection.

2. Create and set up your Twitch account

On a streaming platform, it's best to use your own gaming nickname and choose a cute avatar. It is best to ask a familiar designer to draw a unique image for yourself. Many streamers provide information about their favorite games on the Twitch page, describe the configuration of the PC and indicate contacts on social networks where they can be contacted.

3. Download broadcast software

Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) is the best option available. The program is free and quite simple. There is also XSplit, but you have to pay for it, and Gameshow.

4. Set up the program

After downloading the software, go to settings. On the Stream tab, select Twitch, then search for and enter your unique stream key there, which is located in the platform toolbar. At the same time, you can check the Twitch recommendations for video bitrate and check the operation of the camera with a microphone.

It is important to understand the sources and scenes. The source is what you see and hear on the stream, such as video games, camera, images, and so on. Scenes are what streamers put in between games. For example, you want to make yourself a sandwich and you can insert a scene with a logo and the text: "I'll be back soon."

To broadcast, set up a scene called Game Stream for OBS. Add a microphone and camera as audio and video capture sources, then customize everything to your liking.

5. Need a plan

Are you going to stream with a camera? Wash your hair, get yourself a drink, and put on something attractive. Rehearse in front of a mirror and be sure to schedule your broadcast. If it's a marathon, stock up on food, calculate the right time. Change the name of the streams according to the games you are going to play. The community will not like it very much if you played CS:GO, but then decided to relax in FIFA 18 and in the process did not change the game on Twitch.

6. Record a test stream

Even amateurs can provide high-quality and good content if they approach this issue wisely. Record a few streams for yourself, test the microphone sound, camera, game graphics. Everything can be found out on the record and make the appropriate changes.

You can start with friends on Facebook or Twitter - send out broadcast announcements and stick to the schedule. It is also worth highlighting your strengths - skill, rank, statistics, clickable title. Think about how you can make your own broadcast unique and don't try

It's no secret that in the era of computers, streaming video games is gaining immense popularity. In this regard, many professional and ordinary players began to wonder: how to become a streamer on Twitch?

The word “stream” (from the English “stream”) means broadcast. By the way, streams are watched by millions of viewers, which allows the streamer to earn a lot of money. To date, many specialized studios have been created, for example, RuHub. About 500 thousand people watched the broadcast of the DotA 2 championship on only one ruhab channel.

How to start streaming?

Becoming a streamer is relatively easy. First you need to decide on the game. If you want to gain popularity, then you need to stream a popular game that is watched by a lot of viewers. For example, Harstone, WoW or Tanki online. Of course, it is better to stream what brings you pleasure and what you are good at. After you decide on the game, you will need to download a set of necessary software, understand it and configure it correctly.

First of all, we register on the Twitch.TV website. After that, we download the most common broadcasting program called Open Broadcaster Software or “OBS” for short. The program is absolutely free. Also very popular add-ons are DonatAlerts for pop-up messages with donations and Streamlabs for displaying a chat on the screen. On YouTube, on any request, you can find dozens of manuals with detailed settings for both OBS and everything else.

It is worth noting that even with one hundred regular viewers, you can earn up to 40 thousand rubles a month on donations. The twitch audience mainly seeks to financially help their favorite streamer. Also an important aspect is getting an affiliate program, which will allow you to earn on advertising, which will sometimes pop up for 5 seconds on the screen of viewers. With the receipt of an affiliate program, the possibility of a paid subscription opens up, as well as an increase in the quality of the broadcast of your content.

Twitch also allows you to stream whatever your heart desires, from games to cooking or car repairs, the main thing is to follow the terms and conditions of the service. Sex scenes or scenes of violence are not allowed. It will also be necessary to familiarize yourself with the rules of audio and video owners.

To implement your Twitch channel, you will need a powerful computer and a stable Internet connection of 100 Mbps.

Hi all!

I decided to publish a fairly complete guide for those who are interested in streaming and don't know how to get started.
It will cover a wide variety of topics, with lots of suggestions based on my personal observations and advice from experienced streamers.
This guide is made for those who are planning to use OBS, Xsplit or other programs but are not familiar with them.
Therefore, before you start, we advise you to buckle up, put on a helmet, get a cup of tea and understand the reason for traveling through this article.

Creating your channel

When coming up with a channel name, as with any product, you want something catchy and easy to remember. Also, for those who want to play with it, you must have a theme.
Your name is just as important because it sets you apart from others, it's like branding your channel.
Some people use unattractive and unoriginal names when creating a channel, like 'ZZfukkyStReAM', although you can come up with a more catchy one like 'Fuk.ky' or something like that.
You will most likely be trying to establish yourself somewhere in the rankings of this highly competitive market, so think carefully about the name of the channel, as this will be the basis for many future decisions.

catch phrases

It may seem silly at first glance, but catchphrases can do a lot in this industry. They create a branding, familiarity for fans/viewers that makes your channel stand out from others. CohhCarnage, for example, has its own - "Good Show!!" when he levels up for Ezekien_III, he also has a unique punch that is performed when he levels up.
Based on your own catchphrase, it can get people excited on your channel, they will look forward to your catchphrase, and what they say is up to you when talking to viewers.

Schedule

Before you start broadcasting, plan your schedule.
This is very important in order to indicate the specific time of the stream for the viewers, prepare for the realization of your goal and inform the time of your stay on the Internet. This is important to retain viewers.
Stable broadcasts are needed to attract regular viewers, since they can come and there is nothing to watch! On the other hand, don't stream too often because you'll run out of steam too quickly and your streams won't have new content.
Make the right schedule so that it can stabilize the views of your channel, attract new viewers and then increase your popularity.

Hardware

This is the most talked about part of live streaming, each build is unique and it's hard to say if there is a perfect setup. What I'm going to do is explain the purpose of each component and how important they are to the broadcast and your viewers.

CPU

The CPU (Processor) is usually the most important aspect regarding the technical side of video streaming.
If you use 1 PC, it not only launches the game, but also encodes the video and broadcasts to the channel.
What is coding? Encoding is the process of converting the media content you are recording and converting it to a standard that twitch will receive.
Encoding is a resource intensive process, which means you need a fairly powerful processor.
I recommend processors with more resources than what you will be using to provide enough processing power as well as durability.
When buying a processor, you need to determine the time frame in which it can be used, regardless of the system requirements of games.
AMD/Intel processors will let you get the most for your money, even if you spend $100, the processor will be considered powerful for another 2 years before it needs to be upgraded.

GPU

The GPU (video card) is essential in the gaming process.
The two main competitors are AMD and nVidia.
The better your video card, the better the game will look and you will get a higher streaming quality.
If you're using nvidia's nvenc encoder, the GPU won't be as critically loaded by streaming, mostly just by playing the game.

RAM

RAM (Random Access Memory) is short-term memory. I would recommend 8GB, but I strongly recommend 16GB or more as open world games and survival games use a lot of server storage.
RAM greatly improves multitasking when you run multiple apps while streaming a game.

HDD/SSD

You are most likely using HDD (Hard Drive Disk) or SSD (Solid State Drive).
SSD drives are ideal for storing all your essential programs and the operating system that runs and runs from it.
The HDD uses mechanical components to run, allowing you to store your data on it.
SSD drives use flash memory (the same as flash drives, and this allows them to be faster and more reliable, since the probability of mechanical destruction is zero).
If you want to store the broadcast content on your computer, please make sure you have enough HDD space.
So you can record your broadcast!

Monitor

The monitor will become your best friend when your stream gets more popular.
I am currently using 3 monitors
"Why so many?" - you ask.
The central monitor is the main one - I play games on it.
The left monitor is for OBS, for displaying notifications and so on.
Finally we got to the right monitor. I use it for a chatbot (I use Ankhbot, but more on that later).

Webcam

If you decide to use a webcam, then you should take a decent, high-quality Logitech costing about $ 100, which will last you several years of use (of course, in technical terms).

Microphone

Choosing a microphone is a more difficult decision.
Each person has their own, proven way of broadcasting audio to their viewers.
Many use a simple headset and end up switching to something else once they get established in the streaming rankings.
Others immediately use quality microphones like the Razer Seiren or Yeti Mic.
And another important aspect - whether you use a regular audio input, or still buy a digital one, you may use a studio microphone to broadcast professional-quality sound with a lot of options and effects, for which you need a scissors-shaped stand.

Net

It is important that you have more than 5 Mbps download speed. This will download your encoder at ~2000Kbps.

Video capture

For those looking to stream console games, an external video capture card may be required.
There are plenty of capture cards for older connections and HDMI.
You have the option to use internal capture devices, but external capture devices will reduce the load on your computer, since the processor will only be used for playing, like on consoles.
Finding a capture card is also quite expensive, in terms of time and money.

Periphery

Peripherals. This is a mouse, keyboard, various gamepads.
It doesn't load the stream, you just get what you like - you make the gameplay more convenient for you.

OBS setup

1. You need to download OBS. This application is open source. It is absolutely free, which does not limit the user in broadcasts.

2.Download the CLR Browser, which you will need to provide alerts and other notifications to the channel.

3.Follow the instructions to install the downloaded OBS and CLR browser plugin.

4.Register an account on twitch.tv. Go to the channel and in the right dropdown panel in the information panel, find the Stream Key and click "Show Key". This is important for OBS as it uses it to broadcast to your channel. The Stream Key will need to be inserted into the field called Stream Key Play Path, and when you turn on LIVE mode, video will begin broadcasting to your channel.

5.Set the encoding bitrate. The golden rule of a streamer is that the bitrate is around 2000 Kbps for your internet. Make sure you use a CBR encoder, I personally use an X264 encoder.

6.Set the video options. The golden rule is 1280x720 (720p) resolution and 30 fps (frames per second).

7.Set the sound options as you like. You can leave the default microphone settings. I personally use a high fidelity stereo mic, but set it to mono.

8.Create scenes and sources. Sources are combined into scenes. For example: you want to make an introductory video before the broadcast or before the game starts, or during the loading of the game/match. A webcam, text notifications are also added here.

9.Do a trial run of the broadcast. This is important for evaluating the original video stream that viewers will be able to see.

Branding

1.Logo. It must be something unique. When creating a logo, make sure that it catches the eye. The viewer should immediately understand that this logo represents exactly your channel.

2. Overlays. Whether you buy them online or make your own, overlays should improve your channel, increase your engagement. But don't get carried away, because you may not notice how the entire screen of the stream becomes clogged. You can provide information about yourself, donations or new subscribers.

3. Information panels. On your channel at the bottom (just below the video) there is an information panel. Use it at your discretion. Here you can leave links to your pages from social networks, to websites and just write about yourself. When creating panels, consider the theme of your channel, this is very important.

4.Social networks. Associate your channel name with your social media pages. This generates some kind of advertising and distribution on several sites: Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and so on.

Stream! Good part!

These will be general tips to help you in the live streaming industry where there is always room for improvement. Even the best streamers and entertainers have room for improvement.

Don't be neutral about what's going on in the chat. Address the audience, talk to yourself, comment on your actions, the same music. this will not only make your video the content of the dialogue, but also attract new viewers, for whom, in fact, you play. In addition, you will train your vocal cords so that you can speak for a long time.
Minimize flow shutdown time. Try to reduce the amount of time you are away to deal with personal problems. If you are young, then explain to your parents or other family members the essence of the broadcast and why you need it. Explain the time you plan to spend on the broadcast - I hope they understand you. After all, you must admit - there is nothing worse than a mother talking about scattered underwear in the bathroom.
Do not play oversaturated games if you are not a good player. Try to avoid what I call "TOP 4": League of Legends, Defense of the Ancients, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Hearthstone if you don't know how to play them. These games are too competitive, and you will look like a little moth among tournament streams or professional players. Try to start with games with 300-500 viewers, unless it's the only broadcast channel.
Don't yell at "dudosers". Dudosers are those that will try to spam, advertise your channel, or simply insult you. Most viewers will simply leave watching your game. Better turn on some bot. Some people may want you to just sit back.
Don't ask for donations. This will make you look too pathetic. Usually the funds are donated to the teams. So please indicate what you are looking for.
Make sure viewers are comfortable watching you.
Network.Network.Network. Don't clutter up the network. Limit the resources of your broadcast. After all, some viewers do not have the same Internet as you do.
Create contests! Although rare, it can attract more viewers. This may make you a more promising member of the streaming community.

Bots

Now I'm going to list three main bots.

1.AnkhBot. This is my favorite bot because it has quite flexible settings. It's completely free and all information and actions will be stored on Google Docs, with which it can integrate. It has requests for songs, prizes and so on. It also has the ability to block/delete links, block/delete languages (for example, if you want viewers to communicate only in English, then messages in other languages will simply be deleted).

2.NightBot. A free, web-based bot that provides features such as moderation, song requests, and custom commands.

3.Moobot. Similar to NightBot in that it's also cloud-based. Includes song requests and more.

Safety

1. Create a separate mail that does not contain your name, nickname or channel name. This will create a gap between you and your internet persona.

2.When creating PayPal, go to the business accounts section, and make sure that all information is hidden in the privacy settings. Your address will be shown when you buy things, but the information will be hidden when you get paid. I recommend using the name "Channel's Twitch Channel".

3. Do not use skype with viewers! If you trust 100% random viewers, don't even use TeamSpeak. Discord is a new application that prevents a random viewer from getting your IP address.

4.Don't give too many details about your location! I do not recommend inviting family/acquaintances to stream, as they may let your name or location slip through. Get a PO Box to send things to viewers without worrying about someone getting your personal details.

5.Make sure you change your steam profile email. If you sent a game to someone, the recipient will see your email address. Change it.

  • How to monetize a stream

Rapidly breaking into our lives a few years ago, streams quickly gained popularity.

What are streams and where did they come from? Streams from the English stream - a stream (in this case, a stream of information) are live broadcasts on the Internet, usually through Twitch and YouTube. The most common streams are related to online games. Many even consider the words stream and letsplay synonymous. But it is not so. There are other streams, for example, related to online learning. Almost any live broadcast over the Internet is considered a stream. You can stream anything. The only question is whether it will be of interest to a large audience, since the streamer's earnings directly depend on the number of viewers and views.

The universal principle of creating online broadcasts

Before you start broadcasting a stream and gather an audience, you need to prepare and learn a lot of useful little things that will help attract viewers.

Where to start: choose the format and direction

First of all, you need to decide what to broadcast, and to what audience. The main condition for success is the passion of the streamer himself for the topic of broadcasts, his excitement. Therefore, it is best to stream what is really interesting and what you are good at. Then there will be no problems with the content.

If you're into let's play, you can go to http://www.twitch.tv/directory and see what's in the top. The choice is very wide, but, at the same time, it must be taken into account that the competition in the field of games is incredibly high. To begin with, it is better to take a game that no longer attracts top streamers, but is still interesting to the audience.

To attract an audience, you need to constantly comment on the game, squeezing content out of everything you can. You will have to work hard to find your own chip, which will allow you to lure as many users as possible to your channel. The moves that streamers use can be the most unexpected. So, on one of the English-language channels, the streamer poured candy on people and this earned himself popularity. Of course, there is no need to go to extremes, but the original move will help promote the channel both in Runet and in the bourgeoisie.

Where is it better to make money: we are creating a channel for an English-speaking audience.

Where is it more profitable to open your channel in Russia or abroad? The latter is preferable, and for several reasons.

Firstly, almost everything that exists in Runet comes from abroad.

Secondly, the foreign audience is ten times larger.

Fourthly, abroad in the same YouTube there are no such crises as we have, the rules do not change so often, and there is no drop in income. The fact is that foreign advertisers have more opportunities than Russian ones.

So, if you know English well or some other foreign language, it is better to open a channel right away in the bourgeoisie. In no case should you remake a Russian-language channel into an English-language one, since the channel has already been indexed by YouTube as a Russian-language channel, and will not be ranked abroad.

What you need to promote the stream: 7 secrets leading to the TOP

Steamers have the opportunity not only to do what they love, but also to earn decent money by turning their broadcasts into the main source of income. And it’s not easy to get your viewers and reach the top. Although the competition among streamers is quite high, everyone has a chance, but for this you need to know how to work and what to look for.

  1. Equipment

To start streaming, you need to have a good computer and additional equipment, in particular, a microphone, a webcam. Even before the broadcast, it's a good idea to work on diction. For a live broadcast, the ability to clearly and correctly pronounce words is very important - diction must be delivered.

  1. Information and clearance

Be sure to post preliminary information that announces the start of the stream and everything that you consider important. Pay attention to the design. It should be present, but there is no need to litter the channel too much: the game itself, which can occupy only a quarter of the screen, will not be visible behind all kinds of frames and pictures.

To increase the attractiveness of the channel, use screensavers.

  1. Schedule

Equally important is the regularity of broadcasts. Viewers should clearly know when the next stream will be, and how long it will last. It is preferable to create a VK group and make a post for each stream, and set the start time and duration of the stream immediately after its first release. The first broadcasts are best done no more than 2 hours. After the audience is recruited, the duration of the streams can be increased.

  1. Draws and gifts

All sorts of drawings and gifts will help a lot in promoting the stream. They require certain costs, but if you think that your stream is really good, but cannot attract a large audience, giveaways are a great way out.

  1. Cosplay

The attention of the audience can be attracted through cosplay, dressing in costumes of different characters. Seeing a streamer in a suit is interesting for both children and adults. The easiest option is low cosplay, which is actively found in foreign countries.

  1. Goal Achievement

Another feature that can be used to attract the Goal audience is the goal. Streamers promise to do something extraordinary if they get a certain number of subscribers, or raise the right amount of money. You can promise anything: shave your head or dance in a chair. But you need to think about the fact that sooner or later the promise will have to be fulfilled, so proceed from your real possibilities.

  1. Communication.

And do not forget to communicate with the audience and contact them as often as possible. Silent streamer is unlikely to be popular. First of all, the viewer should be interested in the streamer himself, only then the game.

Looped video: a little secret for a big streamer

Recently, looped or looped videos have become popular on YouTube and Twitch. It is a repetition of the same story over and over. Yes, you can show a video where the same moment of shooting is constantly repeated. Sometimes this slows down the video so that the viewer can pay attention to some details and better understand what the streamer wants to show. But the same plot can be played many times, creating the illusion of ongoing action. As a result, it is realistic to create an endless video that will last as long as you need.

By making a looped video, you can gain an audience even when you are not in real time. An illustrative case is a stream with Jeff Kaplan, Blizzard VP and Chief Designer of Overwatch, who “sat” by the fire for 10 hours and attracted 40,000 viewers.

Viewers are still arguing whether it was real time or a looped video, and how many hours the famous game designer actually spent by the fireplace.

How to monetize a stream

Twitch and other platforms show streams, include ads in them, and earn money from it. After registration, you will only need to adjust the frequency and duration of advertising. The more often the advertisement is broadcast, the more money the streamer can earn. But there is one "but". The public doesn't like ads. Therefore, at first, do not be greedy. When the channel becomes popular, advertisers will contact its owner themselves. And then the earnings will depend on the agreement with them.

Twitch is a popular platform and its features

Twitch is perhaps the most popular and most interesting project for making money on streams, specializing in online games. But in order to make money on Twitch, you need to become its partner and fulfill a number of conditions: A streamer needs to:

  • comply with the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA);
  • make at least three broadcasts per week;
  • have an average of 500 concurrent views.

That is, you can make money on Twitch by becoming its partner if you already have your own audience.

If you are a little short of the required number of views, but you have very interesting content, you can count on cooperation.

But there are other ways to monetize. One of them is donations, when people donate their money to support a streamer. Although this method works more in the USA. Our viewers are reluctant to part with money "for no reason."

You can also use to earn money:

  • affiliate programs (you post the received referral links, which the viewers will follow. But it should be noted that they should be close in topic to your stream);
  • recording broadcasts (Recordings are posted on YouTube, and already there you monetize the stream).

New rules for YouTube monetization

Unfortunately, it has become more difficult to make money on YouTube now, since the service has tightened the rules since this year. Now, in order to monetize your channel on YouTube, you need to get 1,000 subscribers (previously it took 10 times less) and 4,000 hours of viewing.

But everything is not as bad and scary as it seems at first glance. Channels with fewer viewers still earn insignificant amounts: $5-$10 per month. So you can try to get promoted and earn on views.

It is more problematic to create a children's channel. They began to close them on YouTube last year, as according to the new rules, it is forbidden to show and eat sweets, chips and other junk food. It is also forbidden to take pictures of children in bathing suits, show scary toys to play doctor, etc.

But even here you can find an alternative - to create an English-language children's channel. The main thing is to believe in luck and follow the basic rules of the streamer.
